Statement of Solidarity from Four Season Foraging Founder Maria Wesserle

Today marks the four month date since the tragic murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. Starting at that time, I pledged to make monthly donations to local groups that fight for the dignity of black lives, organize to defund the MPD, and/or work to end the racist and classist system of incarceration in the United States.

This month, I am making a monetary donation to CommuniTEA. From their GoFundMe page:

“We are land stewards, herbalists, farmers, and community members. We ultimately want to facilitate and support Black people in reclaiming their relationship to land, and plants as allies and healing medicine….This is a moment where we are choosing to center the healing and wellness of Black people. We are fundraising for supplies, labor, and distribution costs. Please join us in supporting the community by making an investment in CommuniTEA.”

If you have suggestions on groups to fund, please feel free to send me a direct message or email me at info@fourseasonforaging.com. Thank you.

In Solidarity,

Maria
