About This Event
Summer is a peak time of edible abundance for ambitious foragers. Join Maria Wesserle of Four Season Foraging in this introductory class about common wild edibles. Together we will explore the summer landscape in search of fresh flowers, fruits, and mushrooms. The second part of the class will take place in the kitchen, where we will prepare simple dishes with our harvested finds.
Please dress for the weather (rain or shine!) and be prepared to walk around a mile. Plants we will probably encounter include common milkweed, wild bergamot, wild cherry and many others! If we’re lucky, we may also find some summer mushrooms such as chanterelles or chicken of the woods. You will leave with a newfound appreciation for the wild edibles that grow all around us plus a greater sense of confidence in foraging your own food!
